Top 5 MCs? (rap, 2pac, Fat Joe, artist, Hang)

First of all. 50 should be no way near a top 5 MC's list...

Anyways...Not a true top 5 list. They are always changing except Rakim.

1. Rakim
2. Big L
3. Big Punisher
4. Nas
5. KRS-One

I dont think 50 cent has anywhere near the talent or potential that Tupac had...

IMO, he is almost Pop rap. He's slightly better than guys like Nelly and Ja Rule, but I don't think he beats them by much.

I think Ja Rule's debut album was better than 50's debut album.

aight! i think pac was is and will the greatest rapper of all the times. He's an example for all rappers. 50's also dope. Eminem is a master but he's turnin into pop. How can you feel when you listen to Slim and know that 5-year-old boy or girl do the same? I love Dre and his family too.

U don't evaluate the best emcees by how many albums they've sold, or how popular they are. You gotta look at 1. Their contributions to rap music- some argue that underground cats can spit better than big, pac or jay, but these emcees revolutionized hip hop, whether they're actually the best lyricists or not. 2. How well they spit (in battles and freestyles) 3. Creativity on albums 4. What they say- alot of emcees just talk about bitches and cars but the true ones include social commentary in their raps and can spit on some real philosophical **** that provides insight into the human mind. 5. Originallity- true emcees have their own style that is unique to them and no one else. Given that, my list is:
1. 2pac
2. Biggie
3. Big L
4. Jay Z
5. Common

I sort of disagree. I believe you rate the "best MC" on how well they spit and what they spit. It doesn't matter if they've revolutionized hip hop or not. That's my opinion, anyway.

Why does everyone ride pacs **** like he is some kind of god or something. Sure he made decent music, and did a lot for the community and ****, but he should not be #1 on everyones list. And why is Rakim not on everyones list? this forum is wack.

I agree, people jock 'pac waaaaaaaaay too much. Sure he was a good rapper, but he wasn't the GOAT at all.

Pac was extremely talented. I don't believe he was the MOST talented at all, but I do believe he needs to get the respect he deserves -- a top 5 spot. But, that's my opinion and you, of course, have the right to disagree. (Also, don't look at his major albums, but his earlier stuff.)
