Eminem

I am just curious how many ppl like or dislike Eminem...?

I like him.. I feel he has some deep lyrics

Rockafella Skank 12-18-2003 09:27 PM

My thoughts about Emimem are mixed. Some of his music is very deep and touches the soul, but a lot of the time I think he says things just to get a reaction. I know he's not afraid to say what's on his mind, but I think some of what he's saying is exagerated by him. But his music is creative and hard hitting. Of course we have Dre to thank for that, but actually I've heard his stuff way before he was with Dre and before he was known and that stuff I think is his best work. He was so real in his rhymes and his delivery. I think he's gotten a bit commercial lately and I wish he would go back to his roots of rhyming. I think he's moving back in the direction of making his music less commercial and more real, but we'll have to wait for his next album. I'm looking forward to it.

Interactive 12-18-2003 09:35 PM

He's atleast something original. Not really my style though, but he did create his own 'thing'.

Although like Skanky said, I think he says half of the garbage he says to get attention and a reaction. Just like his buddy 50 Cent and the deal with Ja Rule.

exasko 12-18-2003 09:40 PM

Well....

Like his old songs were just woah.. but his latest songs are something else. Even if you ask me.. 'Kim' which is said to be the most ill song ever, is very deep... I think it holds great meaning. He is showing how much it hurt him that his wife had cheated and left him for anthor guy.

'so long bitch ya did me so wrong
i dont wanna go on living in this world with out you'

To me, I may only be 16 but I can fully understand that emotion.

OzzieJess 12-21-2003 02:32 AM

Eminem is an amazing writer! n i like most of his music! but i dont like some of his stuf thats just bout sex n **** like that i like his music that has meaning!

MobilizeTerror 12-21-2003 07:23 PM

If 8 mile was really how his mom was, then the boy has got problems complaining about his mom. Sure she was poor and not the best but she gave him a car and crap. That is only if that is how his real mom was.

OzzieJess 12-21-2003 07:56 PM

the movie wasn't all based on his life.... :( from what i've heard he had a pretty rough up bringing

I bet his life wasn't half as bad as millions of people's lives are. He just got lucky enough to get famous complaining about it.

OzzieJess 12-21-2003 08:28 PM

you mite be rite... but who knows! n if he had a good up bringing then isn;t that up to him to lie bout it?? i like his music i'm not his biggest fan never will be...

OzzieJess 12-21-2003 08:54 PM

Rockafella Skank 12-21-2003 09:19 PM

Were you talking? Laughing? Crying? :)

OzzieJess 12-21-2003 09:21 PM

taking the piss outta my friend cos he was like wow that is so cool... n i didn't think so...

Rockafella Skank 12-21-2003 09:28 PM

Oh, okay. :) I nearly got the movie earlier today to watch tonight, but I got Bad Boys 2 instead. I thought the first one was funny, so we'll see with this one.

Dont bother the movie was terrible. The only reason it did so great is because of who was in it. His mom in the movie was hott though (Kim Basinger) lol.

OzzieJess 12-21-2003 09:46 PM

i aint seen bad boys 2 yet but i wanna

IamAlejo 12-22-2003 12:53 PM

im mixed on eminem too...he has some great things to say, but i think his music is WAY too commercialized, and is more based around the fact that he is a white rapper than a good rapper...but some of his songs are DAMN good

Rockafella Skank 12-22-2003 02:39 PM

I agree with you too. A lot of his stuff wouldn't do well if he wasn't a white rapper, but a lot of his stuff is incredible. So, I guess we just have to take the good with the bad.

exasko 12-23-2003 02:47 PM

8 Mile.. sorry Em, your a great rapper, but seriously was more hyped up then it lived up to be for me. The only parts I loved was the free styling parts.. other then that it was OKAY.. not great. Sorry

Xarius 12-23-2003 10:09 PM

I really liked that movie...it's worth watching.

Such as? What couldn't he do if he wasn't white?

lgcg50 12-26-2003 08:24 PM

Good...but can he keep it up?

I think Eminem is the man. I think it's funny how he pisses everyone off so often, and yet I think that while his lyrical content thus far has been outstanding, it's going to be tough for him to come up with such ingenuous stuff for his next CD...but if he does, my faith in the Eminem movement will be rebolstered. As of right now, I'm getting somewhat tired of hearing him on the radio...his voice is a little high for me........

Thrice 12-26-2003 08:35 PM

Hes ok... Hes a good rhymer and he can write like no one else, but alot of his stuff is garbage and useless.

Rap superstar Eminem, who claims he could fetch more than $10 million for endorsing a product, is suing Apple Computer Inc. on grounds it used one of his hit songs in a TV advertisement without permission.

IamAlejo 02-25-2004 02:16 PM

Never noticed his song in the ad....but if they didn't get permission then that is his own right.

Xarius 02-25-2004 09:19 PM

lmao a program that leagally downloads music is sued for copyright infringement...how ironic.

D12's My Band featuring Eminem

This song is HOT! I just watched the video over at launch.yahoo.com and the video is amazing too. I don't like much of D12's stuff, but I was definitely feeling this. :yikes:

JackJeckel 03-27-2004 01:21 AM

Yea i told you foold like a month ago that this **** was goona be hot anbd noone believe me

Rockafella Skank 03-28-2004 04:02 PM

True, true... this is hot.

Eltiraaz 03-28-2004 05:10 PM

Meh.. its alright, definatley better than what I expected from Em or D12 but it seems like Em's going back to the stupid little joker rapper when he was finally gaining some cred.

I liked the little sombrero skit at the end of the video though.

Although that Janet Jackson paradoy was just... weird.... :|

Xarius 03-28-2004 09:02 PM

how is it featuring em? I thought he was a part of d12?

Ante_Up 03-29-2004 06:26 PM

Hate it...Eminem is the biggest underachiever i have ever seen. He is capable of so much more.

I think thats part of the message of the song, he's put on a higher pedestal than the band, so its as if they have to feature their own band member

u cant say he has under achieved, if u achieve half of what he has in his life you will be the happiest man alive. but.... i have no respect for eminem. he is the fakest person i have ever heard of and he is so corney. he's a good rapper yea. but if he wernt white he'd be no better off than someone like P.Diddy. hu is big, but not to the excess of eminem.

i cant believe i'm talking on the rap forum.

Ante_Up 05-06-2004 04:25 PM

^^If you have ever heard Eminem's early stuff you would agree that he is definatly underacheiving.

I still can't see how any real Hip Hop Head would like this sh*t.

Eltiraaz 05-07-2004 09:04 PM

Its like some guy i heard on Flow say..

"You can fool the Record labels, but not the street fame."

He may be rich outta his ass, but to true authentic listeners hes a joke. Not even to be taken seriously.

Ante_Up 05-07-2004 10:53 PM

^^Realest sh*t i have ever read on here, ever
