can't say I hate T.I. like some of the people here but he's really dope

Andre, Cee-Lo, and Scarface are the best in the South, but T.I. is dope.
I barely hear about Scarface anymore so if it is 'current' then lol it would have to be T.I.

I think Scarface put out a mixtape this year, or has an album coming up or something... I dunno. He "retired" again last year too.

Yeah, if we were talking about the king of the south in today's world, then it's T.I.

Chamillionaire or Bun B for the south.
Miami, who else can you choose besides the boss...Rick Ross.
ATL, Jeezy.
Lousiana, you know who...Weezy.

Out of all them, I like Chamilli the most... But in all honesty, Rick Ross is running the south RIGHT NOW.

I think Gucci and Wayne run the south more than TI does now. They don't seem like kings as much as he does though; more like nomads.

I'd second that Andre3k nod. A lot of people sleep on Andre. He's mad creative too.

Let's just have a kingless south.

Man I hate southern rap... East coast style is my favorite, west coast is nice too, some heavy awesome beats... the south just doesn't do it for me at all. TI is talented and I think he's alright, but just something about his flow I don't like.

I agree completely, but will go even further and say the west coast sound at it's apex, with the exception of tupac & NWA, was just a regurgitation of the P-funk/70's funk sound laid on top of some decent beats.NY and Philly will always represent true hip hop to me. Luckily the Dirty South sound is dyin' out.

Don't forget about SPM(South Park Mexican). He was a pioneer of southern rap. Best go google that man.
