Eminem

Doesn't have his own thread and don't want to get mixed with others. "Relapse" is out there on the internet for those who search for it. The production on it is absolutely phenomenal.

PinkCigarette 05-07-2009 06:05 PM

It's actually not that bad at all. Good stuff, worth checking out.

Antonio 05-07-2009 06:11 PM

i've never been into much hip hop or rap, but yeah, i'll check it out

Kirby 05-08-2009 06:36 PM

I had my faith in Em the whole time, nevermind the subpar singles.

IamAlejo 05-08-2009 08:18 PM

Eh, Encore was pretty bad.

Darkest Hour 05-08-2009 08:29 PM

i wanna hear this album. I can't find it anywhere.

IamAlejo 05-08-2009 08:31 PM

YouTube - Eminem - Underground

YouTube - Eminem - Stay Wide Awake

Probably my two favorites as of right now. I'll try to find it for you...where I got it from has been deleted.

Darkest Hour 05-08-2009 08:39 PM

stay wide awake - the second verse and chorus were good, the rest sucked.

underground - more like old school, i love it. He seems to have lost his flow a bit though.

IamAlejo 05-08-2009 08:47 PM

Ha, if you're going to review I'd hope you'd go more in depth than "it sucked". And his flow on Underground is better than most of the stuff he's ever put out since Infinite. Probably another favorite.

YouTube - Eminem Beautiful Full HQ

i'm not feeling any of his new stuff other than underground man. It's just not up to par with his lp's.

I'd say The Eminem Show is easily better than the LP's, which neither aged all that well. Though I agree, I wouldn't put Relapse in front of them, it's easily better than Encore.

midnight rain 05-08-2009 09:03 PM

I thought you don't like rap Darkest Hour?

Eminem Show is prbably his worst Alejo, first 2 were the best

eminem show is good too. I like all three of those albums. It's all an opinion though. Marshal Mathers LP brings back so many memories and some of my favorite songs are on it. The Real Slim shady = epic

Dude, underground is so sick though. I would at least say it is up there with the older stuff.

haha, i don't. I used to listen to nothing but rap when i was younger though. I was obsessed with eminem for several years when he released his lp's.

Eminem Show he touched on actual subjects instead of just trying to be shocking with his LP's. And I doubt you're including Infinite as part of his first two, but if you were as good as his rhyme flows were on that the production was flat horrible. The shock appeal of the LP's just didn't age well and isn't all that impressive looking back.

what do you mean they didn't age well?

omg, " cut off your ****ing head and ask you where your headed off too." haha, awesome

IamAlejo 05-09-2009 12:36 AM

Eminem Show has a multitude of tracks that are actually Em expressing something not going for just the "shock" that he so often does.

The MMLP has Stan and The Way I am. The SSLP has maaaybe Guilty Conscience. They have no substance besides that. Good albums with incredible flow and rhyme patterns and I still consider them great CD's, but can't touch the subject value of Eminem Show.

Darkest Hour 05-09-2009 11:46 PM

after listening to the eminem show again all the way through again after a couple years i agree, eminem show is the best album. And here is why i think so

soldier
superman
drips
business
without me

soldier is the best song on the album imo

IamAlejo 05-10-2009 12:56 AM

Til I Collapse is my favorite probably...but it's on my gym list so maybe just from hearing it all the time

on top of what you already mentioned there's Cleanin out My Closet and Sing for the Moment. Just much more consistent than his other CD's...though I probably choosing between either LP or Eminem Show wouldn't be some out of no where choice.

yeah, i forgot til i collapse. It would be my second favorite.

SortaGuy 05-12-2009 12:01 AM

i love the marshall mathers lp, but the eminem show was really disappointing to me

SATCHMO 05-12-2009 02:46 AM

Eminem's novelty wore off for me shortly after the release of Slim Shady.

DearJenny 05-12-2009 12:05 PM

It's funny Eminem was raised in Detroit and constantly raps about the city, yet everyone here hates him. I get made fun of constantly because he's on my top ten playlist.

I haven't gotten around to downloading/buying the new album yet, but I'm really excited.

A local rock station is actually playing his new stuff, and all this week if I hear them play an Eminem song, and I'm caller ten, I get a pair of tickets to a private pre-release concert. I'm stoked, I hope I win, I got a few days left.

Janszoon 05-12-2009 12:11 PM

I liked the Slim Shady and Marshall Mathers LPs but I lost interest in him shortly after that album Devil's Night that he did with D-12.

pahuuuta 05-12-2009 12:19 PM

the song "We Made You" is ridiculous hes more pop now than anything, i like his old stuff back from like Marshall Mathers LP and the Eminem Show. things like encore and curtain call were deff not my favorite by all means

DearJenny 05-12-2009 01:29 PM

So far I'm liking:

1.Insane(Reminds me of old Eminem)

2.Medicine Ball(the background music is really jazzy, I like it)

3.Stay Wide Awake(I like the pulse of the song)

4.Beautiful(I like Eminem's slower stuff)

I do agree that he's borderline pop, I'm not sure if I like it or not. I mean, on it's own I love it, but compared on what he used to do, it's crap.

Darkest Hour 05-12-2009 04:06 PM

i must say that beautiful is one of his best songs ever, if not his best. I love this song.

Freebase Dali 05-12-2009 06:28 PM

I never liked Eminem.
Dunno why.
I liked him less when he stopped mocking HipHop and began trying to become a part of it.

frequency 05-12-2009 06:45 PM

I'm worried I will be disappointed with this album. I was the last time. I'll still give it a shot!

it's a really good album. I already downloaded it. Definitely has several very good songs on it worth checking out.

DearJenny 05-12-2009 07:14 PM

Also, bear with it, IMO the first half of the album is worse than the last half. It only gets better as you listen to it.

Darkest Hour 05-13-2009 02:07 AM

holy **** relapse is awesome. 9/10

This album is really explicit though. I'm starting to think it might be his worst album as far as explicit content.

Thrice 05-13-2009 07:27 AM

Im listening to an Eminem song right now.
911 feat boo yaa tribe and real. Pretty upbeat and catchy.

actually his new stuff flows better than some of his old stuff. He just needs to get rid of the accent in some songs.

Jo_X 05-15-2009 08:54 AM

awesome Eminem listening party in London on Monday

Have you seen the latest promo idea they’re doing for Eminem?
In Covent Garden, London on Monday 18th May they’re setting up a ‘Relapse Centre’ where you can go and listen to the new album in an hospital themed environment. With stuff like Eminem lookalikes, nurses handing out fake blood test tubes and surgeons giving head and shoulder massages.
They're going the whole hog with hospital beds and bottles of pills being dished out etc.
It’s on 8am-8pm
anyone else heading down?

SystemRob 05-15-2009 09:27 AM

As an 11yr old I hated his stuff because all the other kids (white and rich, go figure) were into it when I was going through a soul and blues stage. But recently as I have become more militaristic and aggressive and treated like s*** by people who think theyre better than me because of where they come from and what they do I have grown to appreciate his early stuff.

I doubt that a man can lose talent.

wokerybrockery 05-15-2009 09:34 AM

Aesop Rock blows Eminem out of the water, and he's not a punk beez. I was sick of eminem years ago.
