Also, your final statement there, you're saying that no one who raps state side loves what their doing? This was an academic decision like hedgefund manager or paralegal....or rap star? What did you mean by that exactly?
About the first thing, I discovered it because I went looking for it. I realised Hip Hop was universal and wasn't limited to america, now I listen to artists from all over britain, europe, australia and japan. There's still a lot of uncharted territory but I've at least made a pretty good start. And since I started getting into rap outside of america I've realised how repetitive and monotonous the majority of the american rap scene is. And no, I'm not from New Zealand, care to guess again? I like how you assume I'm not from America, it seems to imply that you agree with how I feel about a lot of the american fans (they would never even try listening to anything outside their country they're so closed-minded) maybe you know it or maybe it's a subconscious thing but the fact that you automatically assumed I'm not from America speaks for itself. And no, I'm not from america, but I could have been, right?

As for the second thing, I'm sure america has some rappers who still do it for the love of Hip Hop. In fact I'm certain of it. But in a country where every tom, **** and harry is picking up a mic, the number of people who are doing it because they love it are few and far between. You would think a country with over three hundred million people in it would be able to produce more brilliant artists.

I'm not answering because it isn't important, it has nothing to do with this topic. Hip Hop is universal, I could be from the lost city of atlantis but it don't make a ****ing difference.

It doesn't, read my first post where I mentioned australia, I clearly stated I don't like to single out particular countries or pick a favourite because every country has it's good and bad artists but if I had to pick one, right now, it would be Aus.

Television? Pick up a history book. Or take a look in the mirror. Every american who has posted in here has sided with you, every non-american has at least acknowledged that Hip Hop is universal, see a trend?

Read my posts clearly I said "the majority" not "all". And I'm right.

Right now? Not very many. AOTP, RA the Rugged man, Sabac Red. Tech N9ne(purely for his lyrical ability the gangster **** bores me though), Royce 5'9(same reason as Tech), Zion I, The Grouch, Flobots, Masta Ace and I personally like Mike Shinoda as well. There's more but that's just from the top of my head.

Depends who you ask, some will say Afrikka Bambatta, some will say Stevie Reilly, some will say T Texas Tyler, some even say James Brown. Hell you can trace it back to West African professional singers/storytellers known as Griots. You can even trace the concept of rapping (specifically battle rapping) to Scotlands "Flyting" in the Middle Ages.

Truth is, nobody knows for certain. Who was the first person ever to rap? How could anyone know that. America were certainly the first country to make rap "popular" and definitley pioneered it. But as for creating it? It's improbable.

I said "America has very few spitters I rate". very few, not zero. At no point did I say there was no good rappers in america. Infact I repeatedly said that every country has it's bad and good rappers.

Because there's no evidence to say they did.

It's a shame you didn't think of that before, you could have taken your own advice because now americans look even more ignorant than before.

Arrogant I'll admit. But Ignorant? No. I keep my eyes open in this time of closed minds.

Clearly I know more about it than you do. You just assume america created it and has all of the best rappers. A true testament to how closed-minded you are. Had you even heard of any the artists from australia until you clicked on this topic? I have more knowledge on Hip Hop than you've had hot dinners.

I can have an intelligent discussion, but like a wise man once said "In a battle of wits, trick, you're unarmed".

Well this thread went from great and enlightening to a pants-on-head retarded argument over whose better... I dunno why I was expecting something different.

You see it as winning in your own way?

And why would he say America has no good rappers? Gucci Mane, Twista, Tech Npne, Tupac, B.I.G, Easy-E, come on I can name so many off the top of my head.
