Back when i was way younger, my favorite music as hip hop. i used to listen to the rap station all day (it was the 90's so there was plenty of good ****) ,and this was even before i started buying albums. I LOVED it. Then one day my parents heard what I was listening to. They were so appalled that they banned me from listening rap forever. So i did the only thing I could do, shift to heavy metal.

I don't think my parents have ever listened to good, legit Rap, outside of movies. My mom probably liked Ice Ice Baby or some **** but that's it. My dad just listens to country.

Nope! My parents definitely do not like rap... Unfortunately. Mother can listen something, sometimes, on the radio. But my father just can't stand it

Today i was listening finnish rap and my mom asked me to change track (Julma-Henri & Syrjäytyneet - Rikrek ft. Asa, put ''rikrek'' on YouTube and take the first one), because she didn't like that my 5-years old little brother hears too much ''bad language''. And that wasn't even bad..
Example:
''Ethän sä kuule mun ajatuksia, huora /
mä en haluu sun turkkia tai masseja.
Mä haluun töitä, pöytä täynnä laskuja, /
vitonen taskussa.''

Translated (sry for bad english and possible mistakes):
''You can't hear my thoughts, bitch /
i don't want your fur or money.
I wan't a job, table full of bills, /
five (euros) in my pocket.''

Why? What's the proper age for a person to learn to just not bite it?

personally, i would never endorse rap music to my children relatives. it's just too much violence, bad messages going on.

Just the title of this thread made me laugh ! My parents were from an earlier generation, never heard rap music, but were sufficiently outraged by Reg Presley`s lyrics :

For different reasons, I`ve now come round to their negative appraisal of the Troggs too.
