Nope, they're not into that sort of music, but then I'm not really either.

My mum doesnt mind some of the stuff I listen to, aka she is too polite to tell me that she hates it lol.
This. My parents like some of the more lulzy rap but I listen to the more over the top stuff. Old Cage, ICP, old Em, Tech N9NE, etc. I know there are much more violent rappers out there, but when your parents are quite protective sometimes in terms of language and imagery...yeah.

My mom hates rap. She doesn't even like "Walk this Way" because she thinks it started rap.

Then your parents would love this.

Give them another 20 years and my parents might notice it.

Both of my parents love music, but I live with my mom right now and have got her really into the Roots, Zion I, the Grouch, Lupe Fiasco, Outkast, a Tribe Called Quest, and Frank Ocean.. it's pretty cute actually. We went on a road trip recently, and on the way there listened to a lot of hip hop, then classic rock and folk on the way home

My mother hates it with a passion, but is also completely out of touch with it. When my brother was cleaning the kitchen and had some hip hop playing, and she walked upstairs, she actually said, "What the heck is the crap?" Basically, she had no idea it was hip hop, but realized that she hated it.

My father doesn't listen to it, but appreciates some of it. In his own words, "I like the attitude." He is also completely out of touch with it, as his "favorite" rappers are Lil Wayne and Eminem.
