Well it was a pretty decent song that got the Oscar and it marks tremendous accolades/importance for Hip Hop.

Is Three 6 Mafia considered good? I always kinda liked their stuff. Plus they got an oscar.

36 mafia is pretty damn good.

Even though some people that are into underground and the hipster kids that only like conscious rap don't like them.

They have made some pretty damn good songs.

I love their beats for the most part and they do their own production work.

East Coast hip hop is a regional subgenre of hip hop music that originated in New York City, USA during the 1970s. East Coast hip hop has been noted as the first and original form of hip hop.[1] The style emerged as a definitive subgenre after artists from other regions of the United States emerged with different styles.

Nice Wikipedia definition, but that doesn't really add anything to thread. What modern east coast rappers float your boat?

Listen to a guy by the name of "Shad"

He's from T.O Ontario, and he's truly amazing. One of the best rappers I've ever heard, and that's a lot to say because looking for music is my hobby.

I don't think Toronto counts as East Coast. Just like I don't think that Vancouver counts as West Coast.

The terms of Midwest, East, West, and South in Rap usually just factor in The United States. Unless you think Tijuana rappers are West Coast because it is so close to San Diego.

Makes sense I guess. They refer to themselves as East Coast, so I think of them as East Coast. Southern Ontario is just right off the border anyway. Either way, it's still amazing music
