Untalented? You might not like his music and think he's an idiot, but the guy is clearly talented. Very talented in fact. He will go down as an all time legend within the music industry.

If a woman's pussy is always dry she's not a good ****. If a rapper's hip hop is always dry he's not talented. The dude is DRY. Entertain me! He can't. Because it takes talent and he has none. Has he sold records and wooed critics? Yes, because there's an endless well of people who don't know **** about hip hop. He's BORING. There's nothing worse than boring. People on here bash ICP. They wipe their ass with Kanye. Ten seconds in you know the difference. ICP is fun. Three 6 Mafia are fun. Fun is better than boring. It takes more talent to be fun than it does to be boring. I don't give a **** if he's popular. He's like a pair of sneakers. The same way I'm not interested in Jordans I feel the same way about Kanye's music. Dull as a pair of ****ing sneakers.

You're the worst.

Making music that millions of people love is a talent. How he gets to that position is talent.

He's also incredibly versatile for a mainstream rapper who managed to stay within the public eye throughout his entire career. Not many charting hip-hop artists have attempted a transition like he did through his last 4 albums.

Not if all those millions of people are sold by marketing and not talent and have no taste. And they don't. Massive popularity is more of a sign of lacking talent.

Going by conventional "good music" standards, Kanye West makes good music. He has made - and continues to make - music that closely resembles a large proportion of critically and mainstream acclaimed Hip Hop. He doesn't make music that's so wildly different from the vast majority of successful Hip Hop (either mainstream or critically) that you can state that his listeners have "no taste". At the very least he has a talent for making music that appeals to the masses.

Talent is subjective. Personally I think that his marketing talents are much stronger than his music talents and that equating popularity with talent is kind of a misnomer.

I'd argue that he (specifically) is popular because of his talent.

If Kanye didn't do Kanye stuff all the time he would have been a has been by 2009. Fact.
