Kanye has created some of the best beats in history without a team behind him. And even more of them with a team.

To add to this, music is made by not just one person but multiple people. I don't think rappers and producers and hip-hop in general should be limited to such narrow thinking. Except with lyrics, I DO believe rappers should write their own lyrics and not depend on a team to help with that.

Examples? Just curious.

My opinions on his music

1. I don't generally like his music.
2. I do acknowledge his impact on hip hop and pop music.
3. He's a twat.

Those three points, to me, make him a person who I'm generally confused as to why he's so popular. I just don't get it.

I don't care how music is made as long as it's good. My issue with Kanye is I don't think his music is good. When I hear the old "yeah but even if you don't like him, you have to acknowledge his talent", it brings me around to the fact that I don't think he's particularly talented either.

Lucem Ferre 11-24-2016 12:00 AM

I know he's a lot more involved than that, DJ, but yeah. It's him putting his ideas out, he just uses other talents to help. I've read up on some of the methods he's had going into producing his albums.

I think he's good and talented. If he wasn't talented then anybody could do what he's doing. And they can't. I mean, if he wasn't good or talented he wouldn't have gotten to where he's at. It's not controversy that put him there because controversy doesn't sell records. The celebrities that rely on controversy are forgotten when the controversy is gone. Kanye is never forgotten ever. Even with controversy gone. He's always known as one of the greatest to ever do it.

Goofle's opinion is the only one that gives me pause. There are so many treasures in his year by year lists that I've really come to respect his opinion.

Good to see you'll admit when you're obviously wrong.

Thanks Occult, means a lot.

I'm assuming you have listened to his albums? Most of his earlier stuff was produced either by him alone or with one other guy. MBDTF was his first album that had a gazillion different producers.

Here's a few tracks he produced for other people:

Spoiler for KtoDaWest:
