You take that back or I'm gonna go roll in your lawn.

I write poetry, no judging.

Plenty of rappers are literary poets.

I would say I agree with roughly zero of those. I like Doom, Nas and Andre 3000, and while I don't think any of them write bad lyrics, they're a far cry from great literature. I don't have a problem with that, by the way. They make good music and the lyrics work fine with it. It's the nature of music as an artform that means that care is being paid to a bunch of different things, aside from the words, so it's not surprising that the writing isn't up the level of artforms where the words are the sole focus.

I have no idea what the best poem I've ever read it is.

I see your point, sorta.

This being said, whoever doesn't appreciate Kanye West and his greatness in nearly everything he touches, please leave the thread now.

I really wish I could step inside your head and hear that, because what I hear from him is not particularly interesting. It does fascinate me that so many people are into him though.

"I'm like the fly Malcolm X/Buy any jeans necessary”

Pretty much the best lyricist ever.

I give Kanye credit for everything he does except rapping. He's a bad lyricist.
