As for Rhymesayers, here's another group from the PNW that the label promotes. This is some old stuff by some currently unhip hip-hoppers. Sorry to derail but hark Grayskul...

These guys are clearly better rappers. Like another poster said, if this is what you're into then so be it, but I find the Grieves sample and hook to make it a far superior song...

I feel like grieves definitively has potential as a musician. He knows how to write songs,absolutely. I just don't know if he should try to corner himself into being a rapper, he seems more adept at hybrid stuff like Why or singer songwriter matireal. If he keeps promoting himself as a rapper he's going to be scorned because he's not that captivating to listen to in that sense, but I do like the song you posted because he writes catchy vocal melodies.

I went to a Grieves & Budo concert recently. It was a pretty good show.
They're both hilarious dudes.

Also, K. Flay was there (she was the main reason I wanted to go), so that's a plus.

But I will stand by his music, and say that I think it's pretty good stuff.
