Damn you for getting to that before me. That one always killed me. I walk around saying "you want beef?" and no one gets the reference, its kinda depressing.

Anyway the best skit is the one on the Marshall Mathers LP, The Ken Kaniff skit where he has Violent J and 2 Dope taking turns giving him head. I'm sure that pissed ICP off to the fullest.

Is there even such a thing as a good hip-hop skit? I find myself lunging for the skip button every time one comes on.

Perfect answer. I can't stand them either.

Even on the off chance that the skit is funny (which honestly I can't think of a single example of) it's probably the kind of thing that's only going to make you laugh the first time you hear it. After that it turns into a an old joke you've already heard that you're probably just going to skip past.

Again you are right, but some skits are used to link an album together. And if your like a lot of the members here at musicbanter, or just someone who listens to music by album then many of the skits are as important as the songs themselves.

ex: I know this is a cliche example but on DSOTM there are many points in which no music is played and there is just a break between songs. But without that i think the album would be lacking.
