I actually don't like the Beastie Boys aside from a few songs. Not joking. Same goes for Cypress Hill..

As a kid, it was hip-hop on the radio, and then a couple of years later I fell out of it. However I'd say Public Enemy, Shabazz Palaces, and The Roots got me into the hip-hop I listen to today.

Fur Q was probably the first hip-hop artist I got into. Despite the controversy I'd say "Uzi Lover" was one of the songs of my generation.

To be honest I'm not a fan of the Beastie Boys, their music just does nothing for me. But I do like Cypress Hill, especially the Spanish versions of their albums.
