What if an artist sneaks into a bathroom stall, scribbles a gang sign with a sharpie the wall, then exits without telling anyone about his creation. Now that's art.

I mean if all you're interested in is making bad faith arguments to defend your ego whenever you don't like a piece of art then you might as well just walk away and leave the discussion alone.

I agree. Art doesn't need to have an audience just like it doesn't need to not not have an audience because different artists and types of art accomplish different things.
