Reggae Intro's

Thank you so much all of you for putting together this wonderful thread. I tried everyone's music and enjoyed the variety of reggae. I had no idea there were so many different variations. Having all off this good music to listen to made me realize which kind I liked the best and some great bands I need to look further into.

Some of my favorites that all of you have provided are:

1. Come Mek We Run - Pablo Moses
2. Downpressor Man - Peter Tosh
3. Declaration of Rights - The Abyssinians
4. Sponji Reggae - Black Uhuru
5. Ethiopian Rhapsody - Aswad

Gregory does wide variety of music including sufferer's tales, protest songs, rasta consciousness music as well as lover's rock. He has the vocal chops of a jazz singer and in his prime was the most gifted singer of his generation in Jamaica. It's hard to find an album or even a collection by Gregory that doesn't have some amount of lovers rock on it. But his suffer's tales and rasta conciousness songs are amazing.

I recommend the following songs: Storm, Black Liberation Struggle, Dieting, GP, the Border, Universal Tribulation, Philestine, Help Us Get Over, Handcuff, Slave Market and Material Man to get a pretty good picture of rasta side of Gregory's music. Everyone of those songs are classics and readily available at any music download site.

Damn im diggin dubstep right now. This might even belong in the Electronica section..but just check this awesome sloppy dirty grimey wobbly bass it makes me start groovin every time I hear it.

they have no relevance to the time signature or the beat!
