It has gotten 6 listens so far and it's still just OK. 23 years Of Slayer listening kinda dulls the appetite. It's OK. Nothing more.

You thrash only or do you spread your wings at all?

I'm actually more into hardcore JH, but was a big thrash fan when i was young, so still like the odd metal band that were around in the 80s like Slayer, Exodus etc

I found a very cool scan of an old Metal Hammer interview and lost it again... this is better though: Slayer: 'You do wonder if you've grown together or apart' | Music | The Guardian

Thanks for the warning. I have heard a lot of newer songs (as in the past decade) that are good but I'm just not a big enough fan to need more than Hell Awaits and Reign in Blood.

I think Hell Awaits is a terrible album personally. The title track is brilliant but the rest of the album sucks. Seasons In The Abyss was very strong I thought- they seemed to capture the intensity well on here without having to always be fast.

I think outside of Reign In Blood this is one of their best tracks:

Yeah! Fantastic fucking riffage in that song. Although I have to say I love that entire album from start to finish. I literally can't think of a single song from it that isn't great, though as far as maintaining the intensity without always having to be fast goes "Dead Skin Mask" is pretty hard to beat. This song has such a great dynamic to it:

Also, it's so bizarre what you come across on youtube, but here's "Dead Skin Mask" 50% faster and for some reason I find it both awesome and hysterically funny:
