Les Paul is an idiot but he's right, if it were another band maybe, but You'd be hard pressed to not know all the members if you own all the albums (presuming the band has more than 4 albums). I own all of Tom Waits's studio albums, but he switches bands, so it assumed not many people know the bassist.

Conversly, I own all Metallica's albums, and I can name all four of their bassists.

Maybe its the case where your not flooded with music like me, but Led Zeppelin...thats a hard sell.

And Kashmir get my vote for best responce to a newb.

Lol well i cant name the bassist for muse, oasis, iron maiden and deep purple and id consider myself huge fans of all those bands, i just dont tend to surf the web for music info buy music magazines, pay much attention to the band members or read the booklets you get with cds and this is the first music forum ive joined.
The only bassists from my fav bands i can name are phil lynott, roger waters and flea but theyre two of them are vocalists aswel and everyone knows the other so i guess that doesnt count
