I doubt everyone that like Led on here are in a band, so why would the care how influential they are? And why would someone be influenced by a band if they didn't like the music?
And the fact that you've only heard their 'early years' greatest hits material goes to show how much you've tried to invest your time in a band before knocking them.

because i've seen plenty of people credit a band for influence but still don't like the band.

and i never listened to the greatest hits, i've heard plenty of songs by them because thats all they play on the rock stations and haven't liked one song by them. im not going to go and listen to every cd they made just so i can say i dont like them, ive heard enough i shouldnt be subjected to more of it i was just saying that ive heard most of the music that that guy recommended.

What I hate about discussions like this is that theyre always really safe and obvious. People just pick on safe targets like Blink 182 or Michael Bolton or something.

Personally I think the Who and Led Zeppelin f***ing suck ass and Im not going to not say it just 'cause theyre critically reverred.

i wouldn't say they suck ass jimmy paige was very talented. But yeah, both those bands bore me to tears. I just can't relate to their music, or get into it.

Im not a big fan of robert plants vocals either.

You do know that just about all the rock you listened to was influenced by Led in some way or another. I love Led Zeppelin, but I know many bands I would rather listen to.

As far as the Who goes, well I don't know much about them. I think I have only heard one album and it wasn't that bad.

All the music in the world was influenced by a caveman bangeing rocks together but that don't mean I want to listen to it.

I respect your opinion about Led but my perception of them is that of lumbering dinosaurs, coked up to Valhalla and playing extremely dull, bland loud music.
