I always thought they were big everywhere, at least it shows that Americans were sucked into listening to their inferior Beatles style sound, that seemed to be constantly played in every household here year after year......

Yeah...really the only song anyone ever thinks of is Wonderwall. Maybe Champagne Supernova...but mostly Wonderwall. Every frat boy in this country knows how to play that damn song thinking it's an instant ticket to getting laid.

And sometimes Don't Look Back In Anger and Morning Glory.

I'm willing to bet they weren't all that big in Senegal either. ;)

Bush killed grunge? Sixteen Stone came out in 1994 and I still hear crappy grunge sound-a-likes on the radio today...

Oh no, not Oasis again. F*CK Oasis and f*ck Noel and Liam's oversized ego and eagerness to talk down to every musician with actual talent just because they were big in their own f*cking country who had a shortage on decent rock music and were f*cking desperate anyway.

I'd rather listen to Badfinger. At least those guys were actually good at copying The Beatles.

Only in the UK.

We never really gave a sh*t about britpop, Oasis and Blur had some hits but that's it.

yup. that's pretty much it.

they came out in '94 and their first singles reeked so MUCH of '92 and little sisters that those of us who hadn't noticed the shark being jumped yet DEFINITELY got the replay. it's not that it was over so much as Bush was basically like a prettier Nirvana.

Only Bush kinda sucked as melodists.

Why did Oasis cross the road?

Because The Beatles did it.
