I took it to mean that all 3 of them were overrated in his opinion becuase they were all 3 tied for the lead, but maybe your right...

Ugh for christ sake. Don't apologise. Just harden up. Submission wins no ones support. Head high, Sabrina.
I still think Nirvana would have gone down as greats but only remembered for their songs. Not the individuality credit that Kurt receives while he's 6 ft under. I think if Kurt had seen Nirvana through (i.e Alive) he would have come out popular but not remembered as a great. He would have turned out like Chris Cornell or Eddie Vedder. Iconic, but not legendary. Imagine if one of those two had died...Who reckons Soundgarden would become gold label? Pearl Jam? If Cornell had popped it before he had started Audioslave, I reckon Soundgarden would be held alongside Nirvana.

...It's not like the band went on after Kurt died!!!At the same time, when someone dies it doesn't make them a more well known musician, as far as greatness is concerned!!!The music they performed is what makes them a great musician that wrote great songs.I still believe that SoundGarden not only did, but still gets as much credit as Nirvana did for being a band on the scene... ...SoundGarden was a popular, well known hitband around 1994, just like Nirvana was!!!That's all there is to it!!! ![]() |

No I think you semi missed what I meant. I meant had Nirvana broken up from natural causes, as in, no shock deaths, and Kurt was still living today, I don't think there would be quite the same limelight shining upon Nirvana.
Im not taking anything away from them, just saying that they might have been under a little less attention had Kurt and Nirvana carried on until they naturally split and went their own way.

Even if they "broke up" and went there own ways at that time, their music as well as legacy would still be the same!!!I mean, music is what made the band good and noticeable.Even though his death might bring more notice to the band, I never bought a Nirvana album because of the stories.I bought my Nirvana albums because the music pulled me in, not the stories of death, suicide, drugs, etc... |
