Wow RAR....that summary is brilliant...some of the Nu-Metal I don't agree with personally, but all in all I tihnk you did a terrific job.....I'd give ya a kiss on the cheek if you weren't so far away *blushes*

I cant think of much music today that is really metal, I admit some of the overseas bands I havent heard but in Oz most of the music is a punk/metal joining

Hey all, I'm a metal noob, I only know prog metal, Dream Theater, LTE, Opeth etc, mainly into my prog and indie. Blah, anyway I think Slayer are awesome, much better than all the other metal badns i've heard, they have lyrics you can hear, and when the scream they use it to good effect, and they have gorgeous melodies, what type of metal is this and where can i get more slayeresque stuff?

Megadeth
Venom
Sepultura
Testament
Death
Exodus
Overkill
Metal Church

A fellow Dream Theater fan. Welcome to MB.

Yeah I agree you should listen to Megadeth. They're amazing- one of my favourite bands. Pantera are also good, and you should have a listen to early Metallica.
