Alex Webster from Cannibal Corpse is a phenominal bass player. It's just not all about talent, sometimes its about flair and presance, and thats one thing for me that Claypool lacks IMO I mean, he's talented sure, but his licks don't make the hair stand up on the back of my neck, whereas Cliff, Webster do

Defenitly Geddy Lee for me..that man is amazing

Steve Harris, and Cliff Burton are also up there with the greats.

Most bands don't have good bassits that's why people are mistaken into thinking that bass isnt important but, a good bassist makes a world of difference.

Bassists along with the Drummer are the backbone behind a band, if they do their job, their good enough.... Though a virtuoso wouldn't hurt either.
