Cool posting guys. What do you all think of Mutiny Within? I'm still unsure of what I think of them, it's like prog guitarists started a metalcore band and got a power metal singer.

I like them at first glance, I'll let you know more once I listen to them more in depth.

The mention of power metal vocals in a metalcore band bring to mind Scar Symmetry. Haven't listened in depth apart from like 3 youtube videos, but they seem to be immensely popular with their power metal choruses.

The singer is very very fluent between his cleans and screams, it's intense.

Also, the guitar work that (is it just one guy?) does its ****ing insane. It's like if yngwie malmsteen had balls and decided to write death metal.

LOL, nah two guitarists, a bass and a keyboard. They're pretty fluent with each other but I'm still not entirely sure if I'm a fan or not yet. They're just toeing the line between core, prog and power at the moment and I'm not sure if I'd like to see them continue this or go more proggy.

Ha, I was referring to Necrophagist not Scar Symmetry. That's my fault for not quoting. But yea, I understand your feelings toward them. I'd say decent but nothing spectacular.

"The Human Abstract" reminds me a little of "Necrophagist". They have two guitarists, but they do that flashing and intense circular riffing the Muhammed pulls off.

I only like Nocturne by them. Midhaven and Digital Veil don't even come close to reaching what they pulled off on their debut.
