You're kidding. I listen to Lamb of God, Meshuggah, In Flames, and Pantera, etc. whatever...
But that means that it makes it impossible for me to be able to listen to metalcore? Come on now. That's not even a valid argument. Some people just have eclectic taste in music.

And yes I know this isn't exactly a new post, I was reading this thread from the first page on.

That`s like somebody that once loved Nirvana, now making do with Nickelback.

Which, in my opinion, is totally okay. US, if you have difficulties accepting the fact that people can listen to artists regardless of what kind of other artists they listen to, then I suggest you do like RezZ and GTFO.

(HOW THE **** does listening to Nirvana rule out the possibility of listening to Nickelback...? Idiot.)

Firstly, take a deep breath, relax and chill.....You`re missing the point. I also listen to metalcore as well, but the general consensus here, is that its inferior to both metal and hardcore in general, just accept that fact. If you enjoy metalcore then that`s your prerogative.

Somebody that likes both Nirvana and Nickelback, despite their interest in both bands, must surely see that there is a world of a difference between the two talent wise.

I enjoy metalcore because it's light and fun. I don't take it seriously as a genre though, and I have to admit that it is the equivalent of Ke$ha in pop music. I don't listen to it often (although i used to last year, and my friend scrobbles his plays every time he comes over), but when I do, it's to have fun.

I'll respond to both of these comments with this:

It's like nothing I've never heard before.

Which I've never denied. I even stated it twice! There is no doubt metalcore, technically, is inferior to metal. Hardcore? Not so much, but still. The thing is; depsite the fact that it's not at skillfull, it's still awesome music... to some - including me. So why trash it? The hate metalcore suffers to are similar to racism - even if you carefully explain the differences, and the fact that it doesn't matter, people still make a public war about it. And it pisses me off.

I listen to metalcore, and so does _ALOT_ of other people as well.

Of course I can see theres a world of difference talent wise between the mentioned. But I still prefer Nickelback to Nirvana, that's just my choice.
