Yeah sometimes it is to hard to stand the pure awesomeness of Pantera.

Coal Chamber is standard nu-metal... and I haven't heard enough Static X to judge, but I'm guessing they play the kind of faux-industrial that seems to be so common nowadays.

I really wish the new Genghis Tron didn't suck. Their earlier stuff is awesome.

The new stuff isn't TOO bad...

No, Linkin Park and Papa Roach, that's standard nu metal. Coal Chamber was way more industrial and gothic than anything else. In thier first album they were a little bit nu, but they slowly progressed away from it.

Faux? They took industrial and did something original with it, I've never heard zombie-techno-disco-metal before them, and I still don't see any bands that resemble them even today.

Perdition
Judas Iscariot
The True Xenophobia
Quisling
Spear Of Longinus
Black Tribe
Spitehowling
Thesyre
Burzum
Absurd

A nice smattering of different styles. There are so many to choose from though. I mean, I could fill up a totally worthy top ten list with just norweigen bands from 1990-94, or a list of just USNSBM bands. That's all just black metal, too, I can't imagine such a list without Priest and Maiden and Ozzy and Manowar all represented, but it feels so odd to put them up with more modern, extreme acts. Maybe that's just me, though, hehe.
