roxas 05-23-2006 07:35 AM

SaTaNsChIlD666 05-23-2006 08:56 AM

im flames are great. saw them on ozzfest...yeah soundtrack wasnt really all i hope it would be, but its in flames so i had to get it. but colony and come clarity are def. my fav albums.

PostPsychosis 05-23-2006 11:53 AM

I'm not sure what I heard of theirs, but my cousin brought over some In Flames and it sounded pretty damn good, so I went bought Soundtrack to your Escape, and I hated it. Supposedly the last CD they released is better, and I may check out some of their old stuff. Which CD has Embody the Invisible?

PostPsychosis666 05-23-2006 02:39 PM

Come Clarity is a badass cd.

the_haunted 05-23-2006 02:47 PM

yeah i agree, i didnt like Soundtrack but i bought Come Clarity after i heard Leeches and that cd kicks ass. its much better than Soundtrack. oh and by the way, Embody the Invisible is on "Colony"

Sound Devastation 05-23-2006 04:19 PM

i dont like them.. i had a phase of liking a bit of melo-death but In Flames were at the bottom.

riseagainstrocks 07-07-2006 04:11 PM

If only there new material didn't suck so much.

Kripes 07-07-2006 06:44 PM

I like a lot of their older stuff from what I've heard more than the newer, but all I've ever had is the last two albums (Come Clarity being the only good one compared to Soundtrack To Your Escape).

riseagainstrocks 07-07-2006 07:28 PM

Name an album and I can send it for you.

riseagainstrocks 07-09-2006 08:52 PM

Kripes, sorry it's taking so long. My wireless is being spotty as hell. When it levels out I'll send it.

MURDER JUNKIE 07-11-2006 03:30 AM

You should also get:

Soilwork - The Chainheart Machine

Kripes 07-11-2006 09:38 AM

It'll take a few hours to download (crappy cp), but I'm sure it'll be worth it considering what I've heard. Thanks. :)

Kripes 07-11-2006 02:57 PM

Damnit. It's been downloading the last five+ hours and when it finished it said "could not be copied, wire protected". :(

draxus 07-11-2006 02:58 PM

Don 08-28-2006 11:55 PM

Oh, there's an argument, and that's that melodic death metal sucks (because all metal sucks bar prog).
But let's assume it doesn't, then I would have to insist that the best melodic death metal album by far is "The Chainheart Machine" by Soilwork. And although In Flames gave birth to Soilwork - nothing is in the same stratosphere as that in regards to melodic death metal.

riseagainstrocks 08-29-2006 12:46 AM

You are an idiot on this point my friend.

In Flames (along with At The Gates and Dark Tranquillity) invented and perfected the genre.

Now I can't really understand why you hate metal. Metal rules and that's all there is too it. Go listen to Cynic and try and tell me it isn't the best band ever. You can't. Cause they really are.

Smoke some weed and mellow the **** out. You flip **** on everyone and you dont even know what you are talking about. Stop combing metal review sites trying to find something better.

I'm gonna go listen to Cynic more. And I can YSI if you need me too.

Don 08-29-2006 12:52 AM

At the Gates have one decent album, namely "Slaughter of the Soul," and it was fun playing drums to. But like all metal (besides prog of course) it gets boring fast.

And I obviously don't blame you for not understanding - if your brain power was at the same level of mine, you'd understand, 'friend.'

PS: Cynic are part prog metal, and I never said I hated them; they are mildly okay. Let's say: better than Opeth, but that's nothing special.

1. You do not understand what makes a good MeloDeath album. It's not the marketability or the verse/chorus/verse structure SOTS had. It's the meaning behind it. The feeling. The anger. And SOTS as good as it was, doesn't have that like With Fear I Kiss The Burning Darkness and stuff.

2. Haha, dude I'm sure you're smart, but saying your opinion is right therefor you are more intelligent is total bull****.

3. Opeth writes better songs than you. Go listen to that trendy "prog" rock that is Dream Theatre. John F. is calling. He wants you to suck his **** some more.

Actually, saying everything sucks except for one class isn't ignorant if it's true. And second: if I'm little, then what does that make a whiny little twelve year old like you?

So sorry, I didn't realise that there was someone out there smarter than me. You must truly understand what makes a good metal album much, much more than me. I stand corrected.

Actually it's the inverse of that statement which is true.

John F? Oh you mean Petrucci. Man, DT have one great album and it was a masterpiece. You tell me why it wasn't, and I'll give you an in depth documentation explaining why Cynic sucks.

And in no way is prog "trendy," and it certaintly wouldn't be the reason why I enjoy it.

I forgot to reply to "Opeth writes better songs than you." so I will now...

No they don't.

Well. Let's see. Not only have I been listening to it longer than you, so I have a more attuned ear for it. And second, I'm a musician. Therefor, I by default better than you. And more qualified. At everything.

Whatever. I was thinking the last name from the RHCP. Cynic sucks. Why? One good reason. DT are boring wankerthon music. Better wank music? Beneath The Massacre, Sleep Terror, Behold...The Arctopus, Spiral Architect. I could go on. Face it, you don't know WHAT the hell you're talking about. You're over your head.

Prog sure as **** is getting trendy. All these myspace bands are trying to be "experimental" it's a matter of months before they start spouting bull**** like "prog-deathcore"

So you think you're a musician 'cause you can compose ****ty piano pieces with nonsensical titles? If you don't believe that I’m a musician, maybe I'll show you my compositions. But you'll probably think I just ripped them from somewhere or something because they are that damned good.

boo boo 08-29-2006 07:55 AM

The more people like to clump Dream Theater together with all the awesome bands of progressive rock, the more it makes me cringe.

Composition for class and creating music with other people in a live enviroment are two different things.

I noticed that you stopped arguing everything else. Just kill yourself already

right-track 08-29-2006 09:18 AM

Err... RAR.
