In Flames

Does anyone listen to the Swedish Metal band In Flames? They are very talented. Their guitarist Jesper Stromblad is one the best soloist I've every heard (Yngwie Malmsteen is not included). On their music section of the website you can hear samples of their last 4-5 albums. Post and say what you think.

IamAlejo 02-25-2004 02:18 PM

I have heard a lot of their stuff but none of the song names are popping in my head right now. Regardless, good stuff by them.

HIM_Dark_Heart 03-06-2004 12:51 AM

Inflames is an awsome band to say the least. Original lyrics and a crazy vocalist.
Only for the weak has to be one of my favourite songs of theirs.....their new CD will be realsed in about 20 days, cant' wait

riseagainstrocks 03-06-2004 12:50 PM

The Crown is better in that genre....

DismembermentPlan 03-11-2004 04:57 PM

I've only heard the Reroute To Remain album and I really liked it, but apparently their previous albums are better?

deadbolt 03-12-2004 07:43 AM

i have only heard them when they supported slipknot and american headcharge played as well. (disasterpices DVD show) they were awsome but i havn't heard them since. i just remember being blown away.

OpethFlames 05-27-2004 09:39 AM

Whoracle and Colony are their best albums. Their latest Soundtrack To Your Escape is basically nu-metal. Bt for the good ol melo-death check out their stuff before Reroute to Remain.

In Flames

I got their CD 'Sountrack To Your Escape' and I love nearly every song on it. also Cradle of Filth is pretty good IMO.

Sleepsnekkid 06-30-2004 06:44 PM

Yeah there pretty good. I also like Lamb of God, and Killswitch Engage. Then theres Soylent Green, and Goatwhore. And if you ever want something funny, theres always AC.

Mr.Everett 06-30-2004 10:43 PM

oh man I love kSe's song Rose of Sharyn. I havent heard alot of Lamb of God however..

SikThInDaHead 07-01-2004 08:10 AM

InFlames are awesome.Saw them support Slipknot..........excellent.Any1 like Meshuggah??

Slayer247_666 10-15-2004 08:44 PM

HELL YEAH! they're like my favorite band! i dunno y they kick so much ass, but they do! Jesper has some kick ass solos, Peter is a talented bass player, Anders can really sing, and Daniel kicks ass at the drums! In Flames kicks so much ass!

riseagainstrocks 10-15-2004 09:03 PM

Colony is really good as is The Jester Race. Soundtrack To Your Escape isn't new metal at all. It takes time to grow on you but its just the evolution of their music. I hates STYE and RTR when I first got them, but now I listen to it all the time.

Pit-Bull84 10-15-2004 10:54 PM

IN FLAMES?
A BREATH OF FRESH AIR.
One of the ONLY few good bands left.
Unlike the rest of the crap being called music that's out there today, In Flames doesn't strive to be the angriest, scariest, most depressed people they can be, they strive to be GREAT musicians and do a great job.
I long for the day when bands get back to that state of mind.

itchytasty 10-17-2004 05:36 PM

i stop liking their material after "Clayman"...

great fun to listen to.

Their older stuff was much better. Their last album was horrible.

They've got great stuff on their new albums, but their old stuff is what RELLY got me into them.

In Flames

A lot of people seem 2 only like their old stuff. I've heard people accuse them of selling out. A lot of poeple think their newer stuff blows. What do U think?

metalhead 01-25-2005 09:48 AM

I could care less what people say, I like listening to their old and new stuff, they've been through a lot of stuff, they've had a lot of band members come and go, so i could see why their music might sound a little different, but I like all of their songs.

TheWeaponTheyFear 01-25-2005 09:53 AM

Right on dude! Same here. Their older stuff does seem 2 be heavier than the new though. But so what.. It all sounds good ^_^

itchytasty 01-25-2005 05:10 PM

Clayman and back are what i enjoy. i love Colony.

i could not get into the two newest ones.

Metal_Head 01-25-2005 05:19 PM

In Flames owns.

riseagainstrocks 01-28-2005 11:40 AM

anything pre black ash inheritance (subterranean, etc.) is very "old school" influenced. Most of the songs have acoustic intros. I love this sound. Everything post-Clayman took on a more techno influenced sound and almost sounded grittier. It took getting used to but I love it now as well. My Sweet Shadow is almost as good as the best In Flames song ever: Scorn. great band and I reccomend them to anyone who is breathing.

TheWeaponTheyFear 01-29-2005 04:01 PM

What do U all prefer: Reroute To Remain or Soundtrack To Your Escape?

itchytasty 01-29-2005 07:53 PM

i do not like either.

but i'd probably go with... Reroute, i guess.

riseagainstrocks 01-30-2005 11:44 AM

only song I really like on Soundtrack is My Sweet Shadow

Reroute has Trigger, Cloud Connected, Metaphor, Black & White, Dark Signs...so many well put together tracks with great sung chorus'

TheWeaponTheyFear 01-30-2005 02:59 PM

It's a hard choice 4 me.. But 4 now, I'll go with Reroute To Remain

Metal_Warrioress 07-02-2005 09:05 PM

In Flames are awesome....their early stuff is more melodic and heavy than sountrack to your escape...thats in my opinion not as good as the others......check out colony, the jester race and reroute to remain.....awesome s h i t

GenerationLost 07-02-2005 10:06 PM

Love In Flames, there comin out with a new album this year, cant wait!

The Drunken Terd 07-03-2005 03:40 AM

In Flames are sweet. Listening to 'The Jester Race' now. Got 3 KsE Cd's but Lamb of God irritates me. That scream p!$$e$ me off eg Black Label.

Wyldchild 07-08-2005 06:19 AM

INFLAMES ARE AWESOME DUDE!!!

Soundtrack To Your Escape was ok, but probably my least favourite album. Evil In The Closet. Dead Alone. Quiet Place and a few others were good.
My Favourite's The Jester Race tho. Clayman's is amazing too!!!

Music Is Pwnage 07-08-2005 06:08 PM

how do i feel? i feel horny when i listen to in flames!

riseagainstrocks 07-08-2005 07:37 PM

^ you are lame

In Flames are one of the best melodic metal bands around even though Soundtrack sucked. horribly

Songs to check out "Stand Ablaze" "Dead God In Me" "The Jester Race" "Behind Space" "Swim" "Everdying" "Colony" "Scorn" and "Embody The Invisible"

everything after Clayman (including half of Clayman) isn't very good. but their earlier stuff is heavenly

In Flames

I was going to post in an existing in flames thread, but searching for that is an annoyance seeing as in is too short. Anyway, which In Flames album should I get? I have The Jester Race and Whoracle and love them both and decided to expand my collection and seeing as I have some spare cash at the moment i'd like to know which too get next.

Muzak 03-28-2006 06:57 PM

Hmmm, it is tough with In Flames, I would say either Subterranean or Clayman, but if you don't mind the singer's new voice then Come Clarity
