As far as Ripper and Priest, I thought he did a good job, and apparently I'm the only person that thought Demolition was pretty good.

The vocals clashed mainly because the album was written for Barlow, who has a different voice than the Ripper, but I can't see Matt doing a better job on the Gettysburg trilogy than Tim did, I can't wait for the Something Wicked concept album, they will finally be using him to his full potential.

He was nearly like the Brian Johnson compared to Halford/Bon Scott in some ways.At the same time, Brian Johnson, atleast I.M.O., did a better job carrying on with AC/DC than Tim did for Judas Priest.Tim was great, but nobody will ever be as great as Halford, period!!!

Yes indeed...I loved both of those Halford albums!!!Those musicians in Halford were all great metal/hard-rock performers. The funny thing is that they were actually more metal than Judas Priest, ya know?I mean, I fu(kin' love Judas Priest and I'm definitely not trying to put them down, but they are honestly more of a hard-rock band than a dark, brutal metal one.Either way Halford (the man) is fu(kin' incredible and that is why we call him the Metal God!!!

I've never actually heard any of Halford's solo stuff, but I agree that Priest are more hard rock than metal. I would class painkiller as a metal album though.

Yes, painkiller has a little bit more of a metal flavor to it than some of the others.I love painkiller, but I'm also really into many of priests other songs including "hot rockin'" and "on the run."Even the song "metal gods" is hard-rock though, not metal, ya hear? In closing, get both of Halford's (the band) albums!!!They are way more better than just some artists cool side project, cheers!!!

cool, I'll look out for them. Are there only two? One of them is called the Crucible isn't it? Painkiller is my favourite album and yeah, ironically, the song Metal Gods isn't very metal. Still, I suppose at that time it would have been . :D

Judas Preist ain`t metal now?

****ing hell whats wrong with kids these days

judas_priest 05-10-2006 11:32 AM

I would class them as metal but, compared with metal now, they aren't very heavy that's all.

Urban Hat€monger ? 05-10-2006 11:40 AM

Makes no difference.

You don`t hear people saying James Brown isn`t funk anymore because the Red Hot Chili Peppers are heavier.

judas_priest 05-10-2006 12:15 PM

True. I already said they were metal :)
I was just agreeing with Dustr that some of their songs are more hard rock than metal. They're still a metal band though.
