Meh, i prefer AIC to New Order, i always found the Blue Monday song to be extremely annoying (But granted it's far better than the crappy Orgy cover)... I prefer Soundgarden (and Portishead) to Massive Attack too, i haven't heard much Primal Scream, all i know is that i love Pearl Jam. =D

Regardless, i like grunge and britpop about equally.

Lets just agree to disagree on this.... And agree to agree that britpop and grunge are both better than death metal and black metal.

Good idea

I remember it well , it was 1992 & i`d just bought Morbid Angels Blessed Are The Sick album , I put it on & thought to myself why the fuck am I listening to this shit.

Thankfully britpop was around the corner & I was saved.

Oasis vs Bush , Gallagher boys walk this
PJ Harvey vs Hole , One way contest
Super Furry Animals vs Candlebox , this is getting a bit silly now isn`t itAll those Riot Grrl bands vs Kenickie , OK you can have this one

I make that 8 : 1 to Britpop

*thorn in the side...*

I'd disagree with much of this. Okay over the entire catalogue of Pearl Jam I'll give you the Primal Scream seal of approval but I personally think Ten is moneybags ahead of Primal Scream.
AIC made some bullshit but I'd still take them over NO.
Oasis vs Bush. I have a grudge against the Gallaghers (twats) so I can't be unbiased about this. No comment on this.
And Soundgarden? Soundgarden were pretty bloody decent. You could argue they're just more grunge (which is easy when you hate grunge in general) but I say they were a damn good band. Better then Massive Attack.

Nirvana and Radiohead...too close, thats like Metallica or Maiden?
In this wee showdown theres no sound basis for picking the better band other then personal tastes. People will argue for Nirvana till the cows come home, and likewise for the Radiohead fan.

I don`t hate grunge , it just got boring after it`s 3rd year & refused to die.

Haha, I was just saying that in general Urban, to anyone.

And that comment reminds me of the cow off Me, Myself and Irene. The thing wouldn't even die after the nostril-stranglehold.

I prefer Oasis over Bush, both bands lack originality, Oasis are a Beatles ripoff, Bush are a Nirvana ripoff, Bush may be better musicians (subjective though) but Oasis simply write better songs.

But i do agree with Merkaba that the Gallaghers are two of the biggest jerks around.

I think Noel gets a bad press.

He`s always come across as a smart down to earth guy who loves music in all the interviews i`ve seen him in.

Dude. Alice in Chains was probably the greatest grunge band (some might say Soundgarden... fair enough).
