That is a TERRIBLE example of emo. Listen to "A Voice Turned Vacant", though it is sad to say, I think Hot Cross is becoming pretty generic.
That sounds like Iron Maiden circa 1980 fronted by the guy from At The Drive In to me.

OK flame away

The whole emo style of hardcore was pretty shit. People just like playing up the Revolution Summer and anything called emo up until 1995 because they want to look smart. In reality it wasn't anything to write home about.

I agree, although I have no problem with people who play up the Revolution Summer, b/c some of the prolific bands are still collectively better than the 90s screamo movement. Neither WAS really anything to write home about. And after a while it gets tiring to hear bands like Dag Nasty and Nation of Ulysses get labeled emo...it really is a naughty word...the term didnt have much of a definitive meaning to begin with....even if there was such a thing, the word has become so bastardized that it is not worth the time to save it.

Compared to:

For further clarification, tell me these bands sound anything like Aiden, or whatever you morons think emo is. Especially if you think Motley Crue is heavier than CTTS.

Emo isn't rock btw...

I voted, Heavy Metal, because its my preference for type of rock, some argue metal is a total different genre of music to rock, but the theory and playing is the same really just metal is heavier, and classic is more relaxing and original.

Yeah, nor is metal.... And there is no such thing as a pentatonic scale, no band has ever played a song in 4/4 time, no rock bands have short hair, it's always long, eyeglasse's = bad music, accoustic guitars are more metal than electrics, there is no such thing as bass, only guitar and drums, Elvis was just a talentless Zep ripoff, asians invented rock n roll, not black people, Black Sabbath are soft rock, ELP are disco polka grindcore, Joy Division are symphonic black metal, Journey are bluegrass, Green Day are neo classical, etc.

See?... I can make up completely absurd, invalid garbage too.

I voted alternative since I figured that covered everything from indie to post-punk.

EDIT: indie rock, excuse me.
