In the 80's, you had a great mix of some of the best bands of all time either in the prime of their musical careers or getting ready to rise to the top.Well, many of those bands did one or the other including these artists:
-Aerosmith.
-Motley Crue.
-Bon Jovi.
-Metallica.
-Megadeth.
-Poison.
-Twisted Sister.
-Judas Priest.
-Black Sabbath.
-AC/DC...although they may be an exception because I prefer the Bon Scott years much more.Back In Black though, is a great album and without it being as good as it was, I don't even think AC/DC would be even half as celebrated as they are in music today.
-Kiss.
-Iggy Pop.
-Alice Cooper.
-Queensryche...I'm really missing their earlier sounds now after hearing Operation Mindcrime II!!!It's simply a terrible letdown when compared to the original, great Operation Mindcrime, period!!!
-Neil Young.
-Ted Nugent.
-Ratt.
All the bands I mentioned above are also included in my huge album collection and that is only further proof to the greatness of the 80's and the bands it brought up.The attitude of rock also became more powerful and believable no matter what the lyrics were saying in the 80's.I mean, just their command of the instruments and talent while playing them had the power to make any fan believe in what they were saying.It was truly a boost of energy and confidence in life.In conclusion I'd have to say that not only the concert show, but life in general also became much more extravagant in the 80's.The 90's were great and incredibly influential to musicians including me, but I still believe that the 80's made the most impact...or atleast started it...for the hardrock scene.There are great bands from any decade though, period.
