Senses Fail

Just curious what you think of them. I like their lyrics and their slight hardcore edge. I downloaded the new CD due in september. Its a great CD, I suggest you get it when it comes out.

IamAlejo 08-01-2004 05:46 PM

I just made a post about them in the punk forums. I'll go delete it :( But I like em a lot, my favorite song is "dreaming a reality"

Thrice 08-01-2004 07:48 PM

I've liked this band forever...I don't think their newer stuff can touch their older stuff. Bloody romance, dreaming a reality, andone eight seven are awesome.

riseagainstrocks 08-03-2004 09:47 AM

I heard one new song and it sucked. Bloody Romance is an amazing song. That whole cd is very good. I really want to see them live. Its the only band my girlfriend and I can agree on...haha

felix 08-05-2004 12:44 AM

Senses Fail rocks. I managed to see them twice live. The second time Buddy was sick so his singing wasn't at its best, but not so muc that it took away from the experience. Their first EP is incredible. Let It Enfold You is worth checking out. If anyones looking for it I think its still lying around somewhere on my computer. Add me if you've got msn messenger if you want can't wait till Sept 7. matthealy911@hotmail.com

Forgotten_Idol 09-27-2004 12:51 PM

I've only heard one of their songs: Buried A Lie. But it's really good, one of my favorite songs at the moment. Anybody know where I could download some more of them?

Thrice 10-02-2004 11:08 PM

First, you can go buy the CD, and second I dont think the new CD is anywhere near their level of talent.

Thrice 10-04-2004 01:38 PM

Im listening to their first CD now, It is so great...one eight seven is the shizznit

Ziroc the Xfigher 10-04-2004 02:29 PM

Im not too much into them i suppose they are okay.

her_kerosene_kiss 10-12-2004 08:56 AM

yeah theyre awesome, but i agree with Thrice. their new cd was a major let down for me given the expectations i had based on their old stuff. im seeing them in 2 weeks with Silverstein which should be awesome.

Thrice 10-13-2004 08:45 AM

I am going to the show this wknd with name taked, madison, and silverstien. I hope it will be good. It should

Zealious 10-13-2004 08:07 PM

I liked their new album for a week now it seems a little boring. I like Senses Fail because they're a local band near me that made it big.

tbs_staci 10-14-2004 10:29 AM

Senses Fail is an amazing band. I just bought their new cd which is great.

swingkids. 10-14-2004 02:42 PM

This band is so over rated. They sound like everyother main stream "emo" band.

Nohighhopes 10-20-2004 12:38 PM

From The Depths of Dreams EP. No better songs have been packed tightly into an EP. Steven and ONe Eight Seven, for the money, i doubt it gets any better than that.

Thrice 10-20-2004 09:52 PM

second that...

So i got to meet the SF guys this weekend after the show and they are pretty rad, most were blazed, but they were still cool, my girlfriend and I got pictures with em...ill post em later when im not later.

pigtailsXcore 10-26-2004 02:35 PM

their new cd isn't very good. I'm a fan of "from the depths of dreams" and i was not impressed by their full length. Their lyrics are kinda typical and cheesy. HOWEVER....dan lays it down on the drums!! The whole cd is worth getting just because the drumming is awesome!!!!

tonedeff 11-09-2004 08:49 PM

great band. specially like their lyrics. however twisted in a way, something about digging up a girls body and then having sex with it in Buried A lie, slightly mishapens my view of them.

jibber 11-10-2004 12:35 AM

^ uhhhh, where does the having sex part come in? cause there's no part of the song that even suggests that.

hopefornothing 11-10-2004 07:26 AM

:finger: ok i have to go agents the flow and say their not that good listen to how simple every aspect of their songs are especially in their ep number 5-6 or 6-7 start the same almost. i don’t see how they got signed their are so many talented bands out their and all their lyrics are like she broke my heart so a broke her neck kind of thing but i shouldn’t be the one to talk though im not the one with the record deal

or am i :pimp:

Thrice 11-10-2004 02:57 PM

they were also signed a few years ago....before the mad rush of "she broke my heart so a broke her neck kind of thing "

They were 'in a sense' ahead of schedule when they released the depth of dreams.

all we are is bullets 11-10-2004 04:59 PM

i love senses fail. but yeah i agree on that too. the old cd was definately better but i still think that their new stuff is pretty good.

tonedeff 11-10-2004 07:10 PM

the message is apparent throughout the entire song of buried a lie. The guy obviousily killed her with poison, then dug her up and he plays "doctor" with her. I dont know what detective actually digs up a body to do tests on it, obviousily not a normal one.

jibber 11-11-2004 02:53 AM

^ dude, the playing doctor is refering to an autopsy (too lazy to figure out how to spell it). that's performed to figure out the cause of death, trust me, he's not f***ing the dead chick.

I_LOVE_EVERYONE 11-11-2004 03:02 AM

I love senses fail. I love how their songs are so emotional. I hope that one song isnt about a boy taking advantage of a deceased girl, that would make me sad, but then that would mean that he loves her, so I dont know....I love their music too, I love the guitarist, and the singer the best.

Thrice 11-11-2004 03:52 PM

ha ha...i got to meet the guitarist, and the singer...

even if im wrong witch happens allot i wasn’t saying SF sucks just not as good as everyone is saying and musically their ep is good to listen to but if you broke down the music its really simple and they repeat the same simple thing in more than one song for example the ground folds and 187 listen to the intros. usually labels listen for that stuff and look down on it so i just thought is was weird that they got signed with those songs

it just my opinion don’t let it effect your life

well you must have been ahead of everyone, because most of these bands were not nearly as 'popular' as senses fail, and niether myself nor anyone i knew had heard as much of these bands as senses fail. of course now there are a million bands like this, but when I was referring to the times when SF was the only band anyone really knew about that contined those types of lyrics.

I think thats kind of the appeal to them for most people. Oh and I like to listen to them every once and awhile, my favorite song is rum is for drinking, lady in the blue dress and let it enfold you.

ArtistInTheAmbulance 02-05-2006 02:44 PM

Lyrics = suckfest.
Everything else = fun :)

I dont hate them.

THATS SO AWESOME THOUGH!
My favorite lyrics being

I'm just a bad actor stuck with a ****ty script
All of my lines are cheap and the cast is weak
There was no music for the first time I got kissed
There was no femme fatale, my mistress wasn't rich.
So I've been formatted to fit your TV screen
The film went straight to tape, I'll bow out quietly.

hell yeah.

TillyLovesYew 02-05-2006 03:24 PM

Everyone says how crap the full length album is. When i heard the full length album, i loved the band straight away. Then i found the ep, bought it, listened to and loved it even more. So, hearing the full length album before the ep was a bonus as it made me love the band even more. Now i listen to both all the time and am a huge fan of the band.
