Best Death Metal Bands

I agree that a lot of the imagery and song titles surrounding Death Metal are ridiculous but when it started to push Thrash Metal to one side in the late 80's with it's complex time changes and heavier riffing, you could'nt help but be struck by it, if that was your genre of choice back then. Death and Obituary still remain the quintessential Death Metal bands for me.

I think Death Metal is a lot of fun. These lyrics from Entombed's "Full of Hell" always crack me up.

I've got a 24-lane highway

...by the way, little good devil worshiping has done for them financially. lol

Psycroptic are good musicians, but none of their songs are terribly memorable for me.
