Default Green Day - Dookie

I know everybody hates the cr-p out of them these days, but who's going to deny that this album was at least pretty good?

I haven't heard it for years but I remember in the mid-nineties thinking it was pretty awesome. Course they've had a major change of direction in recent times becoming a pretty lame alternative rock act, but their origins weren't all that bad. Who agrees?

well of course, Dookie was easily one of the best Albums of the 90s, another forgotten great album of there's is Minority, and Warning is good too.

I've always been curious as to just how much fans today like and respect Dookie as a record, including Greenday hatas. Keen to hear more comments.

It was one of my favorite records when I was a wee lass of 12-13...but in retrospect, it wasn't that good. I'd say American Idiot is vastly superior..........yesthats'right...I said it.*smug*

Wasn't a bad album. It was good when they were just having fun back in the day and fooling around. Longview had a great bassline too.

Generic overhyped 90s pop-punk that people seem to hold in high regard for nostalgic or equally petty reasons.

Nostalgia seems to be a strong characteristic when it comes to humans. There is however no denying that previous albums of artists are generally considered to be of a higher (emotional, if not technical) quality than later ones.

Definitely... and Dookie has nostalgic value with me (I'm 19). There's nothing wrong with nostalgia, provided that it doesn't cloud your judgement.
