Try The End's new album "Elementary"...sounds like just a more metal version of Tool, no real screamed vocals or anything he just yells a lot

trivium has become to sound like metallica.
i was listening to em one day a while back and i ask him to guess who this is and he said metallica and its like...wow.
they have good sound, but they're just not original.

I'd second Oceansize and personally recommend their second album Everyone into Position.

O I know they've changed into pure Metallica copycats and are reaping in the dough because of that...I prefer there metalcore sound better when Heafy used to scream.

Neurosis and Jesu maybe? To a poppier extent I get a bit of a Porcupine Tree vibe from Spock's Beard.

Isis and Opeth. or try some Trivium. Maybe a little too hardcore but i think you'd get into em.

You don't listen listen to the former and the latter is nothing like the what the OP is asking for. Stop posting. Seriously. All you do is regurgitate what those around you are talking about even if it doesn't make sense in the context of the thread. You don't develop your own opinions and your time on this board is spent seeking approval from some the social hierarchy this place has managed to develop.

As for my recommendations, Spock's Beard (especially the albums V and Feel Euphoria), Frameshift (check out Unweaving The Rainbow), and Aghora (technical/jazzy metal but with female sung vocals, the self-titled is the superior of the two albums imo)

If you like Tool maybe you'll like A Perfect Circle - actually I'm quite curious as to why no one reccomended it before.

Oceansize, I haven't heard the album Frewen mentioned but their first, Effloresce, is brilliant.

I have to agree with Isis, doesn't sound much like what Tool or PT produce but it's just worth it because it's awesome beyond all words.

And an awful lot better than Tool.
