Hartfield and Luminous Orange are two great Japanese shoegaze bands worth checking out aswell.

They (two people, one girl and one guy) make some of the most creative music I've ever heard, especially with their guitar sounds. The guitarist uses all sorts of shiz on his strings; vibrators, knives, forks... you name it.
