Thumbs down

Lyrically, he had fun with it, not the first or last to do it. But his vocals themselves...that was crap.

Exactly, I agree completely on that part. He came up with some great one liners in his time, but his voice is really bad I believe.

Ah yeah he didn't have a great voice. And he wasn't a great guitarist. Come to think of it, Nirvana were quite **** at everything, but they are still amazing.

He said his lyrics were 'mumbo-jumbo'

Considering i've read a few articles in which cobain talks about what his songs are about. I kind of don't believe what you're saying because you havn't posted any actual proof.

Just to add to the whole major label thing. If Cobain was such a tool to them, why did he write Rape Me? And why did he play the intro to rape me on that awards show (mtv's I believe) just to piss people off? I really don't think he was as big of a corporate tool as you make him out to be.

I think he's pretty good, 'Heart Shaped Box' is probably his best lyrical (and musical in my opinion) work.

Wasn't that because she gave him a box with hearts on it or something, with a doll inside? I read something like that in a book about him but it was a while ago.

Anyway, I think he's a good song-writer. I don't take his lyrics too seriously though, as they do just seem to be 'rubbish'. Still love Nirvana.

I like Kurt's lyrics. The fact that they're nonsensical is what makes them so good. It allows you to mold them into something you can relate to.

Kurt's lyrics were ingenious garbage.
