I like the lyrics to Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle.

If you think that's all just nonsensical garbage you obviously aren't paying attention.

bruise_violet 04-25-2006 02:41 PM

What does it mean? Or, what do you think it means?

I think it's cool when you can find your own meaning for song lyrics.

The song's refrain is "I Miss the Comfort in Being Sad" and Frances Farmer was a famous movie star a while back who had some mental issues and was lobotomized, which made her braindead. So to me the song is (at least partially) about how society tries to convince people that being unhappy or having mental issues is an ultimate evil but often the alternative isn't really better. I guess that could also serve as an analogy to Kurt's own views on success and how he felt like he had it better when he wasn't a superstar... but that might be reading to deeply into it.

Well thats really awesome how you got that, I think. And it sounds pretty accurate to me!

Exactly, I agree completely on that part. He came up with some great one liners in his time, but his voice is really bad I believe.

bruise_violet 04-25-2006 02:57 PM

Ah yeah he didn't have a great voice. And he wasn't a great guitarist. Come to think of it, Nirvana were quite **** at everything, but they are still amazing.

shiftael 04-25-2006 03:23 PM

How about just... MEH

bruise_violet 04-25-2006 03:26 PM

Well if Nirvana just came out now, do you think they would be as big as they were in the 90s?

I don't think they would...

Urban Hat€monger ? 04-25-2006 03:27 PM

I can`t tell if his lyrics are any good because he always mumbles the bloody things

swim 04-25-2006 03:28 PM

no shit. They were a grunge band. They came out when the grunge scene was popular. This made them popular.
