I half-agree, it would be wrong to classify them as pure punk or pure grunge, they were a very diverse band. For example, (in my opinion) Heart-Shaped Box doesn't belong in the same genre as say Negative Creep.

DISAGREE - they are a combination of grunge, rock, punk, alternative....the list continues.
