I really like The Kinks, some of their songs are just amazing. Definatly potentional summer songs, do you not argee? And gosh...'Dedicated Follower Of Fasion'... "They seek him here, they seek him there, In regent street and leicester square..." Okay, not one of their best, but c'mon, you have to love the frilly nylon panties?

The only thing that confused me, is the the thread was posted in the Punk forum? Is that just me being incredibly stupid? :|

I always have liked the Kinks, perhaps even more than the Beatles, shame teh whole world forgoets them and focus's on eth beatles or The Stones, they had a string of great songs, waterloo sunset, lola, you really got me etc..They were one of the best bands around yet were overshadowed by bands such as the Beatles and Stones..

the riff's on all day & all of the night and you really got me are to me the birth of heavy rock. the distortion on the guitars is very reminiscent and influential to many of todays metal bands. and i also think the kinks did the whole britpop thing way before the 90s.
