A mixture, bungalow. It's kind of post rock, pretty progressive/spacey, and can be fairly heavy. The album I just received, Oceanic, has some female vocals and they're somewhat experimental too. Very tight musicianship.

The link is still active in the sharing thread I think. Check it out. If that doesn't work I can try upload the album for you.

One thing I can't handle too much of is the shouting vocals. That would have to be the only downside to this band in my opinion.

Led Zeppelin
The Beatles
Pink Floyd
The Rolling Stones
AC/DC
Black Sabbath
The Doors
Jimi Henrix Experience
Guns 'n' Roses
CCR

Probably not in that order but Led Zep, the Stones and Beatles are certainly up there.

Isis are often called post-metal.. i tend to call them atmospheric doom. Its heavy music but with post-rock elements and hardcore style vocals. the female vocals you hear on Oceanic are from guest vocalist Maria Christopher from the band 27. also worth checking out!

if you dont like heavy vocals, have a listen to Panopticon their latest release.. theyre a band that have become less heavy with every album, Oceanic being the middle one.
