Look, are you gonna use this forum for anything other than posting on this specific thread to insult and patronize everyone that disagrees with you? It seems that way because I haven't seen you make one post not ONE on another thread.

Either stop trolling this thread and try to be a productive member of this forum or you get banned. Or you could leave right now and save whatever dignity you have left.

Yeah all the notes are there, but it's ****ing bland.

p.s. Listen to booboo.

Sodacake 08-14-2009 06:39 PM

I actually think that Petrucci cover was quite good except for when those other two idiots joined in.

boo boo 08-14-2009 10:33 PM

Yeah they turned it into a real wankfest.

Yeah, It was at that point that Petrucci seemed to say "No my dick is still bigger than yours."

Sodacake 08-15-2009 05:28 PM

Ha ha. That's a pretty good way of putting it.

3. Allman

Meh, I think John Frusciante should be higher at least in the top twenties. This might sound ridiculous to some, but he is fantastic - especially his large collection of solo work. He's a first class musician - no denying that.

1. Jimi Hendrix
2. John Frusciante

These are the only two who speak to me.

jtwilliams 09-06-2009 11:08 PM

I would just like to say thanks for actually putting Rory Gallagher on the list. Personally he would be near the very top of my list. But thats my bias.
I am just glad someone appreciate some of his talent.

Seragon Ripper 09-07-2009 06:52 PM

I disagree with your first ten, here's how it should be

1. Jimi Hendrix (Jimi Hendrix Experience, Band of Gypsys)
2. Jimmy Page(Led Zeppelin, Yardbirds)
3. Eric Clapton(Cream, Yardbirds, Solo)
4. Jeff Beck ( The Yardbirds, The Jeff Beck Group, session work, solo)
5. Angus Young(ACDC)
6. Tony Iommi(Black Sabbath)
7. Pete Townshend (The Who, solo)
8. Saul Hudson(Guns N' Roses, Velvot Revolver)
9. Ritchie Blackmore (Deep Purple, Rainbow, Blackmores Night)
10. Yngwie J. Malmsteen(Rising Force)

Huh?

Seragon Ripper 09-07-2009 07:10 PM

If that was a 'huh' for him being there shame on you. If that was a 'huh' for who that is, I shall tell you. it's Slash's real name

khfreek 09-08-2009 05:01 AM

It was a huh? because I thought you were on about that rhythm guitarist for VR that wore the beanie.

PS. You don't get points for using his real name.

Mojo 09-08-2009 05:09 AM

Most of the guitarists on their list or in this thread full stop go by names that differ from their birthnames or adopt stagenames.

Seragon Ripper 09-08-2009 08:02 AM

No, I just like to use his real name

Get over it.

Seragon Ripper 09-10-2009 06:43 PM

Not really, I don't like to piss people off intentionally. That would be pointless

khfreek 09-10-2009 07:39 PM

You don't like to think of what you're doing in those terms, but you're still lording a piece of useless knowledge over other people.

There's a reason he calls himself Slash, it's because he wants to be called it. If he didn't everyone would just be calling him Saul Hudson.

Rickenbacker 09-10-2009 08:31 PM

Who ****ing cares about Slash?

dac 09-10-2009 08:55 PM

He clearly used the name Saul Hudson because he didn't want people to realize he was including Slash in a Top 10 list.

You probably don't like intentionally pissing people off, but when you do something like what you did by using Slash's real name just so you can correct people it pisses them off anyway.

If you liked using real names so much why didn't you use Johnny Allen Hendrix instead of Jimi Hendrix? Why not just use Lars Johan Yngve Lannerback instead of Yngwie Malmsteen, hmm?

Notveryskilled 10-12-2009 04:49 PM

Tim Reynolds. He's amazing. Not his solo stuff so much but the stuff he does live with Dave Matthews is awesome. If you haven't heard him play go to youtube and search him a Dave at Radio City. It's Fantastic.

No doubt he's a great guitarist. But does he really excel in any of the other categories boo boo laid out? I'm not so sure.

BTW, great avatar picture! :thumb:

I don't even remember a time when MTV was good. It's been a horrible channel for so long now.

James 10-15-2009 01:24 PM

Before my time then. I wasn't old enough to remember it being good.

that's why a few of us old farts still pop in to remind you young'uns about what was what before the internet took over. :p:

METALbass 10-15-2009 07:49 PM

I don't think Slash deserves to be that high on the list. He's not really THAT good, he's average. I feel sorry for Izzy Stradlin. Everybody thinks Slash is so good and nobody pays any attention to him. Tom Morello I don't think is that good either, He relies to heavily on distortion for his solos. Also Matt Bellamy and John Petrucci should be higher. And Kirk Hammet should be here. I could go on...
