Just listened to the tracks "Do Not Look Down" and "Break Those Bones Whose Sinews Gave It Motion" (that was a mouthful) on from the new album on Meshuggah's facebook page and the early internet reviews seem to be true after my brief experience with the songs. It sounds as if Meshuggah has toned down the nerdy-hyper tech they're famous for and have traded it in for a more groovy riff fest with the most organic sounding guitar tone I've ever heard from the band. Only adds to my expectations for the new album as a whole!

Yes, I think Koloss is shaping up to be one of many great metal releases slated for this year. Can't wait!

No, but extreme metal is not meant to be. If you want melodic metal you need to look elesewhere.
