This is very true. Try playing Battery while singing. Its agonising.

Metallica's music has no presence in today's music world. 1980s Metallica stood for something... now its just noise.

When Jason left the band that pretty much killed it for me.

Yeah, I understand you liking to talk about it. I do too. But it seems like every time I do, I always get shut down by poeple. And I totally agree with Brock. When Jason left Metallica...That hurt them. But we'll see how Rob does with their upcoming album due out this coming year. And yeah, maybe MEtallica doesn't really have a presence in todays "rock" scene. They weren't meant to. They are an 80's metal band...They have an 80's sound. Well with the exception of St. Anger, which I was not impressed with. But hey, ya gotta stay loyal to your band!!

It depends. Most people are accepting of the fact that someone likes a band. But as long as you try to remain impartial and unbiased, then people won't mind. People don't like blind fanboys/girls - I'm not saying you are one, but that's just my perception of things. Everyone is fanatical about particular bands/artists, but not so many people can be unbiased about it.

was flicking thru some old videos last night and saw them perform at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Kinda surprised me, thought they would be against MTV domination

80's Metallica is so boss. Actually so is 90's Metallica. St. Anger is an interesting record. A couple of great tracks mixed in with a bunch of mediocre ones. Coulda been a great EP. I will stand by Some Kind of Monster any day. That song has epic written all over it.

this wasn't exactly what i was looking for but back when MTV used to do ICON shows, they made far better promos.

I wanted the time line video that starts at roughly 8:45.

The Moscow video on 4:10 is also pretty cool
