NEWS: Metallica announce ‘The Metallica Blacklist’ covers album!

Metallica are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their iconic record, ‘The Black Album’, with a range of artists offering their own renditions across a mammoth 53-track tribute album.

The thrash metal giants have announced a new collaborative record, ‘The Blacklist Album’, which will see 53 bands and artists – including Biffy Clyro, Weezer, Royal Blood, PUP, and Corey Taylor – cover one of the twelve tracks on ‘The Black Album’.

Set to be released on September 10th 2021 via Metallica‘s label, Blackened Records, all proceeds from the album will be donated to charities of each contributing artist’s choice, alongside donations to Metallica‘s own foundation, All Within My Hands.

personally, i think Metallica hasn't been good in many years.

the last album they released that i genuinely enjoyed was "...And Justice for All".

i've hated every album they've released since then.

i see. i only asked because i've had people tell me that i'm "not a true fan" if i don't like all their material.

of course, this statement ignores the fact that St. Anger is a steaming pile of sh*t and the majority of Metallica's fanbase seems to agree.

opinions on Death Magnetic and Countdown to Self-Destruction seem to vary.
