KoRn or Disturbed?

I detest Korn's sound with a vengeance. That bass sound that supposedly set them apart seemed like a calculated way to try to make them sound different to other metal bands but it just sounds so unorganic and false.

I would actually prefer to listen to the first Linkin Park album than a Korn track.

Disturbed are so unoriginal it's untrue BUT they are just another band peddling a sound that sold and at least admitted to that. Voices and Down With The Sickness are acceptable tracks on a drunken Saturday night although they have been even worse since their debut album.

I'm pretty sure I never claimed that there were a slew of identical sounding bands with Jonathan Davis singing for them.

Meh. Like I said there was never much about them that made them stand out for me.

Anyhoo... since I mentioned Shootyz Groove, do you listen to those guys at all? Knowing your tastes they seem like a band you'd probably like. Worth a listen if you've never checked them out.

Fair enough, Janny. I don't need to try to change your mind, I know how you feel.

They sound interesting, but I can't find too much info about them. What should I listen to first or download?

Honestly, I don't know for sure. I don't actually own anything by them. A lot of my friends in high school were into them though, which (according to Wikipedia) would be the era of their debut EP and LP. I also saw them in concert when they were on tour for their album High Definition and thought they were really good live. They just really jump out at me as a band you might like based on a lot of other stuff I know you like.

I have to be in a certain mood in order to listen to either band actually. Often people dislike a band because they havent had enough exposure to them, or simply just dont like their music. Music snobs even annoy other music snobs.... music-lovers have to know how to talk about music to others without coming off as sounding like their opinion is everything, (as I have also been guilty of doing that very same thing, as well myself.
