I love "Kill 'em All" as a half decent, still punk inspired, early thrash classic. Can listen to a song like "Motorbreath" and hear some of how much they were influenced by the Misfits.

If you are into the early days of thrash, it should serve you well. If you like a more punk infused version of Metallica, this is an album that at the very least, still demands a listen.

May not have the technical and increasingly more progressive style they would go into on the next 3 albums. But for what it is, it holds its own.

Personally I say just listen to the first 4. I personally think the Black Album is their decline point, Bob Rock just sucked the life of them. I can stand a few scattered songs from this album on, but not like I could the first 4.

It's my head exploding at the thought that How Will I laugh Tomorrow... sounds anything like Master of Puppets. Suicidal Tendencies may have nicked some riffs, but I would never compare those two albums soundwise.

I guess to be fair I was half way through the opening track Battery and the bridge seemed remarkably reminiscent of the bridge in The Miracle off How Will I Laugh Tomorrow which is one of my favourite parts off the album so I was a little disappointed. Still I do think there are stylistic similarities beyond that. I will have to have a good comparative listen because it's been a while since I listened to How Will I Laugh Tomorrow.

I agree, maby it's because it was the album that everyone skateboarded to back in the day, but its my favourite Metallica album, if not one of my favorite albums in general.

I appreciate what Masters of Puppets was, and its defiantly the runner up, but I've never been a fan of the slowed down acoustic ballads in metal, Kill em all was just one hard hitten thrash album... in short everything I love about metal!

No Remorse (forgotten classic track on the album)

That album definitely has some great songs that seem to get overlooked. Perfect example:

Ah Jump in the Fire, could argubably be the best track on the album.

Yeah, Jump in the Fire is fantastic, but for me it's second to The Four Horsemen. The riff which starts at 2:40 is better even than the Jump in the Fire riff.

Cool song, but it's a pour man's "The Mechanix", which they stole from Dave Mustaine when he got kicked out of the band.
