Steppenwolf 7 (straight in your face rock) and For Ladies Only were great albums.

Monster from 1969 was a disappointment in my opinion.

Best rock music since 2000 for classic rock music listeners

I have been stuck listening to the big bands of the 60's-80's but never really branched out from there in my "classic rock" listening. What do you guys got for me?

This is pretty tight. I assume that you dig Led Zeppelin?

If you like '60s rock, I can practically guarantee you'll dig this.

I've been listening to Finntroll's Jarkten Tid album and I'm really enjoying the folk metal. It's quickly becoming one of my favorite musical styles. But I'm not sure which album I should go to now? Any recommendations on what's worth my money?

I generally dislike metal, but I enjoyed Tuatha de Danann's Trova di Danu. They're a Brazilian Celtic metal band.

Folk metal is a weird genre to talk about. Sometimes it has folk instruments, sometimes it's just lyrics about the ancient history of one's country. I don't think it's a particularly well-defined genre, but I'm gonna throw these at you.

In the past I've always dismissed Bathory (you all are going to harass me for that, I know) for whatever reason, but I really enjoy that track. I'll have to give them another chance. I was also really intrigued by Ulver. I listened to a couple songs on that album and enjoyed them as well. It's a shame that they changed their style. Thanks a lot for the recommendations.

And I am aware of Lord Mantis.

I'd strongly suggest checking out Methdrinker. They don't have a very big discography yet, but what they have released is pure gold. If you're willing to settle for something without Alan Dubin vocals, you really should also check out Corrupted.
