Deathcore/metalcore bands: thy art is murder, bring me the horizon, Emmure, ADTR. All of these bands have amazing growls.

Here's better metalcore than all of those bands.

Underøath's albums "Act of Depression" and "cries of the past" is about the same as that.

I'm checking out that first Underoath album, and it's a bit similar, but Arkangel have them beat hands down as far as intensity. Honestly, bands with this kind of sound seem to have been a dime a dozen in the late-nineties/early-00s, and this isn't really impressing me that much. Vocalist is a bit crap, band's too tepid, and too much mid-paced chugging. If I'm gonna listen to that much mid-paced breakdowns, then I'll stick to Poison the Well's first album. Check out Kickback or Reprisal for a better version of what Underoath seem to be doing on Act of Depression.

It's alright. But I like Dallas Taylor with his screams. Have you seen the new underoath songs? What do you think of them to the old ones?

Oh, and speaking of deathcore, I'm not a fan at all (I can listen to a couple songs by Suicide Silence before I need to switch to something else), but I remember a one-album band from back in the day called Eternal Lord who were pretty awesome. Melodic, but without being melodic metalcore, and their album, Blessed Be This Nightmare, had a pretty sweet sludgy production.

They're pretty standard deathcore, but ****ing kill. Gonna have to go download that album.

That's the only Underoath I've ever listened to, so I can't say.

Hey guys, I'm looking for some new Stoner Metal and Sludge Metal. I listen to Baroness, Clutch, Mastodon, Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age.

In case you don't already know the obvious ones.

Unfortunately they keep taking down this band's studio recordings off of Youtube, so this is the best I can do, but Acid Bath's first album is one of the best things ever recorded by any band ever. For some reason the sound is out of sync with the video though.
